This instrument is used to detect impaired or abnormal functioning in your central and peripheral vision.
OCT (optical coherence tomography)
Used for obtaining three-dimensional high resolution images of the inside of the eye. Effectively, an ultrasound of the eye. This is a scanning laser which assists in diagnosing and monitoring glaucoma, as well as some retinal diseases. There is no discomfort with the test, and it usually takes less than 15 minutes.
VEP – Diopsys
Helps in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of visual disorders caused by a disruption in the connection between the eye and the brain. Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) measures the electrical activity in the vision system. When light from an image enters your eye, it is converted into electrical energy at the retina and travels through the optic nerve to the visual cortex of the brain which processes vision. The Diopsys° NOVA-VEP test measures the strength of the signal reaching your visual cortex and how fast it gets there.
ERG – Diopsys
Pattern Electroretinography (ERG) measures the function of your retina – the light-sensitive layer at the back of your eye.
