IEC Announces Addition of Kelly Sharpe, O.D.

International Eyecare Center has announced that Dr. Kelly Sharpe, OD, has joined their optometric staff. Dr. Sharpe sees patients in Memphis, at IEC in the Scotland County Hospital. She joins Dr. Ron Brand and Dr. Mindy Blackford in Kirksville and will also be in Burlington, Iowa two days per week.

A native of northeastern Missouri, Dr. Sharpe graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Truman State in 2011. Sharpe went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Missouri /St. Louis College of Optometry in 2015. She also completed specialty externships at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital, Columbia MO, Saint Louis University Low Vision Clinic, in addition to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sharpe’s interest in optometric care started in 2010 as an optometric technician at IEC in Quincy, IL.
Dr. Sharpe’s background emphasized primary eye care, pediatric vision care, low vision services, and the treatment of eye diseases. She has special interest in the fitting of contacts lenses and is fully licensed to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological medication. Dr. Sharpe is a member of the America Optometric Association.

Dr. Sharpe is from Durham, MO and graduated from Highland High School, in Lewistown, MO. She is married and enjoys running and spending time with her family.
