John H. Mc Dougall, O.D. - Quincy
Dr.
McDougall is the founding optometrist and chief executive
officer of International Eyecare Center and he leads
six full service eye care practices in Illinois and
Missouri. Our practices have served the eye health
care needs of the Quincy Illinois community since
1976. Dr. McDougall is widely recognized by his peers
for his insightful vision into the future of eye
health care. He leads the industry in testing and
utilizing the latest innovative technology to serve
the ever-changing needs of his patients. Dr. McDougall
is an international lecturer for major optometric
conferences and a consultant to numerous optometric
industries.
Daniel L. Hayden, O.D. - Quincy
Dr.
Hayden has returned to his hometown of Quincy joining
International Eyecare Center in 1999. After receiving
his Doctor in Optometry from the Illinois College
of Optometry and completing a clinical externship
in Chicago, he practiced in LaGrange, Illinois before
returning to Quincy. Dr. Hayden is fully licensed
and experienced to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological
medication and treat ocular disease and emergencies.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association
and the Illinois Optometric Association and the Contact
Lens Society. Dr. Hayden has a special interest in
Lasik post-procedure follow-up and pediatric vision
problems.
Timothy J. Leahy, O.D. - Pittsfield
Dr.
Leahy received his Doctor of Optometry, cum laude,
from Illinois College of Optometry in 1993. Following
clinical internship emphasizing the treatment and
management of ocular diseases, he received specialized
training in vision therapy, which emphasizes treatment
for children with visually related problems. Dr.
Leahy joined International Eyecare Center in 1993
seeing patients in the Pittsfield and Quincy offices.
Dr. Leahy is fully licensed to prescribe therapeutic
pharmacological medications and treat ocular emergencies.
He is a member of the Contact Lens Section of the
American Optometric Association and the Illinois
Optometric Association.
Kenneth R. Mueller, O.D. - Hannibal
Dr.
Mueller has been serving patient's eye health care
needs since receiving his Doctor of Optometry from
Indiana University in 1990 where he earned recognition
for his original research in the area of monovision
contact lenses. Following completion of clinical
internships Dr. Mueller joined International Eyecare
Center practicing in the Hannibal Missouri location.
Dr. Mueller has special interest in the treatment
of glaucoma, and patients with low vision needs.
He is a member of the Contact Lens and Low Vision
Section of the American Optometric Association.
Kristie
N. Chevalier, O.D. - Quincy
Dr. Chevalier received her Doctorate of Optometry
at the New England College of Optometry, Boston,
MA in 1999, and completed her residency at the Kansas
City VAMC. Her internships emphasized the diagnosis
and treatment of ocular disease, emergency care,
and pre- and post-operative care.
Upon graduation, Dr. Chevalier was part of a large group eye practice in the
Kansas City area for five years. She has special interest in primary care including
contact lens fittings, pediatric vision care, low vision services, Lasik pre-and
post-procedure care, and in the treatment of eye disease. She is fully licensed
to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological medication and treat ocular disease
and emergencies. Dr.Chevalier has lectured extensively and participated
in numerous research studies for new treatments in
diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma
and eye related allergies. Dr. Chevalier is a member
of the American Optometric Association, the Missouri
Optometric Association, and the Heart of America
Contact Lens Society. Dr. Chevalier is married and
has two children.
Ronald A. Brand, O.D. - Kirksville
Dr.
Brand received his Doctor of Optometry from Illinois
College of Optometry. He completed post-graduate
work in Geriatrics Vision, Pediatric Vision, and
specialized contact lens fits. Dr. Brand joined International
Eyecare Center, practicing in Kirksville, Missouri,
in 1985. Dr. Brand is fully licensed to diagnose
and treat eye diseases including glaucoma. He also
co-manages cataract and refractive vision correction
surgery patients. Dr. Brand is a member of the American
Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association
and Collegiate Society for the Advancement of Contact
Lens Care.
Mindy M. Blackford received her Doctorate of Optometry
at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry,
Tahlequah, OK in 2006. Her internships emphasized
the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, emergency
care, and pre- and post-operative care. A native
of northeastern Missouri, Dr. Blackford received
a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Truman
State University, Kirksville, MO. Dr. Blackford has
special interest in primary care including the fitting
of contact lenses, pediatric and children’s
vision care, Lasik pre-and post-procedure care and
the treatment of eye disease. Dr. Blackford is fully
licensed to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological
medication and treat ocular disease and emergencies.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association
and the Missouri Optometric Association.
Jason E. McDowell, O.D. - Jacksonville
Dr.
McDowell earned his Doctorate in Optometry from the
University of Missouri School of Optometry in 1998.
During his studies he received the Jackson Memorial
Award for his research paper on the fitting of bifocal
contact lenses. He completed his medical externship
in Denver, Colorado at the Omni Eye Specialists where
treatment of ocular disease and ocular emergencies
was emphasized. Upon graduating Dr. McDowell practiced
in the Hannibal-Quincy area prior to coming to Jacksonville.
Dr. McDowell has a special interest in the treatment
of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and in the fitting
of contact lenses. He is licensed to prescribe therapeutic
pharmacologic medication and treat ocular emergencies.
Dr. McDowell is a member of both the American Optometric
Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
Brendon J. Johnson, O.D. - Pekin
Dr.
Johnson earned his Doctorate in Optometry from the
Nova Southeastern School of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida. During his studies, he completed externships
in low vision, pediatric vision and contact lenses.
He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology
with Specialization in Medical Science from Southern
Illinois University at Edwardsville. Dr. Johnson
joined IEC in 2002 to practice in his hometown of
Pekin, Illinois. He has an interest in treating glaucoma
and in the fitting of contact lenses, along with
low vision services. He is licensed to prescribe
therapeutic pharmacologic medication and treat ocular
disease and emergencies. Dr. Johnson is a member
of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois
Optometric Association.
Kelley
S. Baumhover, O.D. - Mexico
Dr.
Kelley Baumhover received her Doctorate of Optometry
from the University of Houston, College of Optometry
in 2004. Her internship at Spokane Veterans Administration
Medical Center emphasized the diagnosis and treatment
of ocular disease, emergency care, and pre- and post-operative
care. Dr. Baumhover has special interest in primary
care including the fitting of contact lenses, low
vision services, Lasik pre-and post-procedure care
and the treatment of eye disease. Dr. Baumhover is
fully licensed to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological
medication and treat ocular disease and emergencies.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association
Contact Lens and Cornea Division and the Missouri
Optometric Association.
Joseph P. Gira, M.D.
Dr.
Gira is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas
City School of Medicine receiving his Doctorate Degree
with Distinction. He also completed his under-graduate
training from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
After a year of transitional internship at St. John's
Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Dr. Gira completed
his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of
Texas-Houston Health Science Center, Hermann Eye
Center. He is licensed to practice in Missouri, Illinois
and Texas. Dr. Gira is affiliated with the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research
in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Medical
Association, and the Missouri State Medical Association.
Dr. Gira is an accomplished public speaker. He has
presented papers at various ophthalmology conferences
and his research activities have been published.
Laurence I. Miller, D.O.
Dr.
Miller is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. A graduate
of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine,
Kirksville, Missouri, he completed his Ophthalmology
residency at Tulsa Regional Medical Center in Tulsa,
Oklahoma and served an internship at Grandview Hospital
in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Miller received his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Pharmacy at Long Island University.
His certification in LASIK is from the Phillips Eye
Institute. Dr. Miller is an Associate Professor in
the Department of Surgery at the Kirksville College
of Osteopathic Medicine. Professional Affiliations
include Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and
Otorhinolaryngology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology,
Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons,
and Cornea Castro Viejo Society.
Steven F. Lee, M.D.
Dr.
Lee is a graduate of the University of Maryland School
of Medicine in Baltimore. He completed a Corneal
Fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University
of Miami School of Medicine, Miami. After an internship
at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, Dr.
Lee completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Washington
University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO. He
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry
from the University of Maryland, graduating Cum Laude.
Dr. Lee is Board Certified by the American Board
of Ophthalmology. He has extensive refractive surgery
education and is approved to use Summit, VISX, Autonomous,
and NIDEK excimer lasers for LASIK and PRK. Dr. Lee
has practiced ophthalmology in St. Louis since 1995.
He has authored many scientific articles in the field
of ophthalmology. Dr. Lee is affiliated with the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the America
Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
