Mindy M. Blackford, O.D.

EDUCATION: Mindy M. Blackford received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry, Tahlequah, OK in 2006. Dr. Blackford received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Truman State University, Kirksville, MO. Her internships emphasized the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, emergency care, and pre-operative and post-operative care.
Dr. Blackford has special interest in primary care including the fitting of contact lenses, pediatric and children’s vision care, Lasik pre-and post-procedure care and the treatment of eye disease. She is fully licensed to prescribe therapeutic pharmacological medication and treat ocular disease and emergencies.
A native of northeastern Missouri, Dr. Blackford is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association (MOA). She serves on the Missouri Optometric Association board as a Trustee for the Northeast Society. In 2014, she was named MOA Young OD of the Year. Dr. Blackford is a member of the Kirksville Young Professionals. She is married and enjoys spending time with her family.
